Prologue: Big space battle. Rebel fleet scrapes itself together on the fly and evacuates. Again, Poe conducts himself heroically, and he expects suicidally, but Leah keeps the flagship in as the last spacecraft out to keep Poe alive. Rose's sister dies in a blast sustained by the flagship as a consequence of this. The rivalry between Darth Emo and Huxley is revisited and we learn that Scarface is deliberately setting them against each other in competition for his approval. Act 1: Jedi Arc: Luke rebuffs Rey's request that he return to the rebels and presumably train her up a little bit. Luke is self aware enough to muse that his own masters were doubtful, but states his view that in the last thirty years, tampering with the Force has only netted the downfall of the galaxy that we see around us. He is on this island to die to bring an end to the Jedi order. It's simultaneously an act for peace and also one of penance for himself and for the actions of all of the other Jedi. Rey, increasingly flirting with her own force connection, rhetorically declares she will die there too, as a fellow force monster. Rebel Fleet Arc: The rebels take account of the leftovers of the battle and the consequences are shocking. Leah venomously dresses Poe down and does, indeed, demote him. His life is not just his own to gamble - he's a soldier. If he sees himself as a bartering chip for so little gain, then he at least ought to think of the value of the equipment on his back. Rose learns of the cost of Poe's gambit and tells him bluntly that he owes her a life. Because of the ad hoc retreat, the First Order Fleet will almost certainly be able to track down the Rebels. They can be outrun, but only for a short time at the cost of their propulsion cores. Then they'll be stranded and will have to make a stand. There's a base from the old rebellion in range. We'd best get prepared for the inevitable... First Order Arc: While Huxley and Phasma pompously arrange the pursuit of the rebels, Darth Emo has felt a growing presence in the force. He likens it to a reflection of his own power. Snook counsels him on the matter and explains that mastering the Force is to forever navigate a forest of ghosts - some living. Darth Emo will investigate this. In meditation, Darth Emo seeks out this mirror presence in the Force, and experiences a powerful vision of Rey in the shower. Act 2: Rebel Fleet Arc: The remnants of the rebel fleet arrive at the old base. There they will field whatever they can in the sky and make whatever defense they can on the ground. Finn falls in with the rebel marines. After the loss of a troop carrier, they have equipment, but not bodies, so he is tasked with forming a pair of platoons from volunteers who were formerly common crew members - hardly infantry. He takes a lesson in leadership from Leah's aid de camp and asks her to act as his sargeant. With Leah's backing, Rose confronts Poe after pushing through the worst of her grief. He owes her life and it will be her own. There's no time to turn her into a full blown pilot, but Poe can train her to be his gunner in the fleet's last Y-wing. Jedi Arc: Luke, despite having shut himself away from much of the Force, cannot help but feel the presence of Darth Emo's vision of Rey in the shower. He tells Rey of the other Jedi who fell to the dark side and how nothing the Jedi did ever stopped this. Rey tells Luke that if she leaves, it will be as a powerful weilder of the Force with nothing to guide it. She proposes that the Force is not a mere duality between light and dark, but with chaos as its own quality. Luke and Ghost Yoda conclude that the folly of the Jedi was to see that the Light bludgeon the Dark, but the Force is inevitable and uncaring with no preference for allegience. Yes, they will train a new Jedi, but not as one to build temples and take on apprentices, but as a participant in the Force to counterbalance an existing dark side presence. First Order Arc: Snook summons Darth Emo to confront him, having detected his apprentice's own probings into the Force. Darth Emo reminds Snook that the Dark Side offers a faster path to power than the Light, kills him, and then kills the red guards in a flashy lightsabre battle. Snook (not dead!) uses the Force to stop Emo's heart. When the balance of power is different, they can renegotiate the contract. He reveals himself to be the ghost form of an ancient sith. He lets Darth Emo go. But now we have a battle to fight. Act 3: Jedi Arc: During the training montage, Luke has opened himself to the Force again and Rey with him. They sense the situation at the old rebel base and, with Ghost Yoda's acknowledging when things were cut short before, travel to the surprisingly nearby rebel base. The Battle (Space): The last of the pilots attempt to destroy as many troop and equipment transports as they can before reaching the ground. After doing what they can, they turn their atttention to capital ships. Rose nails a bunch of ships, but it looks like so many have reached the ground that their friends cannot be saved. Now she consents to making it a fight to the death with Poe leading the charge. There's a juicy command ship right over there... The Battle (Ground): Finn's platoons, benefitting from his inside knowledge of Imperial ground doctrine (and lacking much soldiering experience for a pitched battle) have improvised booby traps along the path of the AT-ATs' advance. After resisting the onslaught better than they had any reason to, Darth Emo, accompanied by more red guards, makes his appearance on the battlefield. Leah orders a withdrawl into the base and the doors locked, but is hit badly herself... Jedi Arc (cont.): After arriving in the system, Luke travels to the strongest force presence aboard the capital ship and begins his showdown with Snook. Rey goes to the ground and begins her duel with Darth Emo (round two). Flash cuts between both fights. Luke sees that he is overwhlemed by the apparently stronger opponent. He surrenders his guard and allows himself to be cut down. Snook's triumph is halted when Ghost Luke appears and forcibly merges with him, condemning both to a shared eternal state of equilibrium in the Force. Darth Emo senses this and withdraws from his place in the fight - now that he is the ultimate power. Epilogue: The last of the Rebel forces are, indeed, so small that they all fit aboard the Millenium Falcon around the now dead Leah. Poe asks Rose's forgiveness, but she playfully rebuffs that after a second suicidal fight, she is still owed yet another life. Ghost Yoda appears to Rey and explains that the ghost state was the eventual reward of all Jedi, but Luke had sacrificed his to sustain order within the Force, as they both now understood it to mean. He suggests she take another shower in the upcoming sequel.
