  • INHALATION
    		• Cough. Shortness of breath.
    		Ventilation (not if powder).
    		Fresh air, rest.
  • SKIN

    		• Protective gloves.
    		Remove contaminated clothes. Rinse skin with plenty of water or shower.
  • EYES
    		• Redness. Pain.
    		Safety goggles.
    		First rinse with plenty of water for several minutes (remove contact lenses if easily possible), then take to a doctor.
  • INGESTION
    		• Abdominal pain. Vomiting.
    		Do not eat, drink, or smoke during work.
    		Rinse mouth. Refer for medical attention.
    SPILLAGE DISPOSAL STORAGE PACKAGING & LABELLING
    Sweep spilled substance into containers. Wash away remainder with plenty of water. Sweep gently to avoid raising dust.
    		Separated from strong acids. Cool. Dry.

    PHYSICAL STATE; APPEARANCE:
     WHITE GRANULES OR CRYSTALLINE POWDER, DELIQUESCENT.

    CHEMICAL DANGERS:
     The substance decomposes on heating over 253°C into sodium oxalate, hydrogen (see ICSC 0001) and carbon monoxide (see ICSC 0023), and on contact with acids producing formic acid vapours (see ICSC 0485).

    		ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
     The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation of its aerosol and by ingestion.

    INHALATION RISK:
     Evaporation at 20°C is negligible; a harmful concentration of airborne particles can, however, be reached quickly when dispersed.

    EFFECTS OF SHORT-TERM EXPOSURE:
     The substance irritates the eyes and the respiratory tract. The substance may cause effects on the kidneys , resulting in blood in urine.
